Midtown North, Manhattan— Late Friday afternoon, a truck towing a car carrier jumped a curve and crashed into scaffolding, causing a section of it to collapse—the incident left at least one person injured, according to officials.
The crash occurred at the corner of 42nd St and 3rd Ave, at approximately 5:30 p.m., according to the FDNY.
FDNY officials stated that a civilian suffered non-life threatening injuries and was removed to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.
At the scene, it appeared that a white pickup truck towing a car carrier trailer—with at least three vehicles on it—had crashed into scaffolding that was set up in front of the Citibank located on the corner; a section of the scaffolding was lying on carrier but the pickup truck towing the carrier was not crushed in the collapse.
The NYC Department of Buildings was on scene and will determine the cause of the crash, according to a spokesperson for the department.
