FDNY EMT and paramedic injured in Sunnyside crash

Sunnyside, Staten Island- A vehicle accident involving an ambulance yesterday left an FDNY EMT and paramedic with minor injuries, according to officials.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Dudley Ave. and Clove Rd. at approximately 2:23 PM, an FDNY spokeswoman said; the ambulance involved in the accident was en route to Richmond University Medical Center when it collided with a grey SUV, according to the spokeswoman.

It was not immediately clear if the driver of the SUV suffered any injuries in the crash—the SUV had visible damage to its side and the airbags had deployed.

FDNY officials stated the accident is currently under investigation.
