Man viciously attacked in Times Sq subway station

Midtown South, Manhattan- Yesterday police released video of a vicious subway attack that took place at the end of last month in the 42nd St/Times Sq subway station.

Surveillance video of the incident shows a man exiting a subway car, coming up behind an unidentified victim and then swinging and hitting the victim multiple times. After being struck, the victim falls to the floor and the attacker kicks him once before walking away.

The attack lasted for approximately ten seconds.

Police officials say the 22-year-old male victim was punched several times in the face and body; the victim was treated by EMS for bruising to his face and a chipped tooth, according to police.

The attack occurred on February 28, 2018, at around 6:30 PM, according to police officials.

Police described the suspect as a male Hispanic in his 30’s, approximately 6-feet in height and around 240 pounds.

The attacker fled the scene and is still being sought by the NYPD. The public can submit tips to police by calling 1-800-577-TIPS or going to www.crimestoppers.com.

Update: The alleged suspect has since been identified by the NYPD as 24-year-old Jose Hasing, of Queens NY.  According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce, Mr. Hasings has an extensive criminal record. Mr. Hasing is currently being sought by police and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
