Crown Heights shooting leaves Brooklyn man dead

Crown Heights, Brooklyn- Early this morning, a Brooklyn man was shot multiple times in front of a housing complex and later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, according to authorities.

Police say they responded to 220 Montgomery St. just after 3 AM for reports of a man shot.

Upon their arrival, officers found 26-year-old Barry Thierno with gunshot wounds to the face and torso.

Mr. Thierno was transported to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead just before 4 AM, according to police.

The victim was listed as a resident of a building that is less than two blocks from where he was found shot, according to information provided by police.

Police officials stated that no arrests have been made and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

As of this afternoon, the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.
