Teen makes it several blocks after being shot

Claremont, the Bronx-A dramatic scene unfolded last night when a teen walked several blocks after being shot before dropping to the pavement.

Around 8:30 PM, police stated that the 18-year-old male victim was standing on Sheridan Ave. near Marcy Place when an unidentified person approached from behind and shot him. The perpetrator then turned and ran away, while the victim started walking westbound on Marcy Place.

After arriving on the scene, police and EMS found the teen on the ground near the intersection of Walton Ave. and Elliot Place, more than two blocks away from where police say he was shot.

EMTs transported him to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released any further information on the gunman or victim and stated that the investigation is ongoing.
