Bronx fire leaves dozens without a home

Claremont, the Bronx- Early this morning, a fire tore through an apartment building and left nearly two dozen families without a home.

The fire began at around 5 AM on the 5th floor of a five-story apartment building at 1686 Clay Ave, according to the FNDY.

Hundreds of firefighters were on scene to fight the flames and they bought the fire under control within two hours.

Apartments on the top floor of the building were completely destroyed but those on the floors below it are habitable, according to the FNDY.

FDNY officials reported that two civilians and two firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Right now, the cause of the fire remains unclear.
