Fire in Viacom Building in Times Square

Times Square, Manhattan- At around 4:30 PM, there was a 2-Alarm fire in the basement of the Viacom building which is located near the cross of W 46 St and 7th Avenue.

The FDNY was able to quickly get the fire under control and began to leave the scene after an hour of their arrival.

During the incident, the Viacom building was evacuated and police kept the large crowds in Times Square from moving near where firefighters were working.

As of this evening, there have been no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is unclear.
