Gramercy, Manhattan- Yesterday at around 1:00 AM, a SUV ran over a man near Union Square and then sped off. The man suffered head and body trauma and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

This morning, NYPD released security video (below) of the incident which shows a dark colored SUV heading down E. 14 St. and then making a sharp turn onto Union Square East. As the SUV is making the turn, it strikes the victim who is standing on the crosswalk. The back wheels of the vehicle go over the fallen man and it continues forward without breaking.

The NY Post reported that as of this morning, the man is still critical in the hospital.

Police are still searching for the vehicle and person involved with this hit and run. You can submit an anonymous tip on their Crime Stoppers page by clicking here.
