Midtown South, Manhattan- At 5:25 PM yesterday a red van plowed into three pedestrians outside Penn Station; two females and one male were struck. According to the NYPD, all three were taken to Bellevue Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries.

A photo published on the NY Daily New’s website showed the driver placed in handcuffs and sitting down in front of the driver side door of his van. According to police, the man told officers that the floor mat of his van got stuck on the pedal and therefore was not able to yield to the pedestrians crossing 7th Avenue. He was eventually released without being charged.

7th Avenue between 32 St. and 31 St. was briefly closed down to pedestrian and vehicular traffic while the investigation took place.
