Man fatally struck by 6 train at Canal Street.

Chinatown, Manhattan- A man completed suicide by jumping in front of a southbound 6 train at the Canal Street stop. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 AM yesterday.

After being struck by the subway, the man became trapped under the first car. Members from ESU Truck 1 and Adam 1, along with FDNY Rescue 1, used airbags to lift the train off of the man.

The man was transported to Bellevue Hospital by FDNY EMTs.  He was not able to survive his injures.
